Welcome to Pillar and Taper, formerly known as Emily’s Candles. Our new name reflects the craftsmanship and tradition at the heart of what we do, moving beyond the “spare room” beginnings into a brand dedicated to timeless, hand-crafted candles.
My love for candle-making began when I was a little girl. Fascinated by the glow, scent, and ritual of candles, I’ve carried that passion ever since. Today, that early obsession has grown into a studio where I design, pour, dip, create each candle with care. Every piece is created by hand, using traditional methods that honour the heritage of candle-making while adding a modern, elegant touch.
I’m not alone in this journey. My children often join me in the studio, especially when the dipping tanks are on , turning candle-making into something that feels like both art and family tradition. Their laughter and excitement bring an extra spark to the process, and every candle carries a little bit of that joy.
